Children and Young People with Disabilities: Short Breaks Commissioning Strategy

Closed 22 Aug 2021

Opened 21 Jul 2021

Overview

Essex County Council has developed a new Short Breaks Commissioning Strategy. This Strategy sets out our approach to providing short breaks to children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their families. We have reviewed what we currently provide and have spoken with families to get their views on how needs are currently being met and what changes might be required. The Strategy sets out our five year vision and plan for improving our offer in response to what we have heard.  It also sets out how we would like to work better with partners and our plans for achieving better value for money from our existing resources.

We would like to hear the views of anyone who has an interest in Short Breaks about our new Strategy and whether you think we have selected the right priority areas for action.

There is a link at the bottom of this page and this will take you to where you can read the draft strategy.

Click on the survey link below and you can complete three short questions to give us your views and at the end there are a few optional demographic questions which will be used to help us with planning and consultation.
