Wraparound Care Inclusion Funding Application Form

Overview

Applying for Essex Wraparound Childcare Inclusion Funding (WaCIF)

Wraparound Childcare Inclusion funding (WaCIF) is to support Essex wraparound childcare providers with school age children who have an identified SEND need and who are attending wraparound childcare in the April 26 to March 27 financial year.

You must use this form to apply for WaCIF. Details about eligibility for WaCIF can be found on our website. We encourage Providers to read this information before submitting an application.

All submissions for WaCIF should be made using this online form.

How decision about applications for WaCIF are made

Funding is automatically allocated to applications where a child has an EHCP, an agreed needs assessment or has accessed early years funding/specialist teacher involvement to support a special educational need. Applications for WaCIF that do not meet the automatic allocation criteria are considered by a County-wide Early Years Resource Panel. Details of the Panel's work and membership are included in the terms of reference. Further information about panel meeting dates can be found on our website.

Continuing Funding

You must submit a reviewed copy of the one plan (or SEND support plan) on a termly basis in order for funding to continue. If you do not submit a reviewed one plan on a termly basis you will not receive any further WaCIF. Funding cannot be backdated to a prior term.

What WaCIF can be used for

  • WaCIF can be used as a contribution to the following:
    • Enhancing the adult to child ratio for some or all of the time the child is in attendance
    • Improving accessibility or inclusion through non-capital expenditure equipment that is specifically required by the child (for example temporary/movable ramps) or to purchase specialised resources. Resources and equipment must be specific to the child’s needs
  • Funding must NOT be used to
    • Purchase additional sessions for the child
    • Buy in external professionals to work with the child
    • Generally improve the wrap around environment or resources
