Overview

This survey is for young people in Essex age 11yrs (academic Year 7) – 25yrs.

Welcome to our Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Survey for young people in Essex. The purpose of this survey is to engage with young people in Essex to help us understand how we can ensure that they are supported to have healthy relationships.

Following on from our first two RSHE surveys which ran in 2021 and 2022, this year we have continued our work with young people and developed new survey questions for each of the following groups;

  • School Years 7, 8 & 9
  • School Years 10 & 11
  • Post 16 Education or Provision (16-25yrs)

There is no need to be embarrassed, this survey is completely anonymous and confidential – this means you can’t be identified from your response, and your answers will be kept safe and secure.

Your responses will be used to help shape and improve young people’s sexual health services within Essex. Please take the time to answer honestly.

As you may be aware Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is part of a mandatory curriculum to be taught in schools.

We would like to get your views and understanding of young people’s sexual health needs within Essex, what further information you would like regarding sexual health, and where you like to get this information.

Remember your participation in the survey is completely voluntary. Please only answer questions you feel comfortable answering and feel free to stop at any point.

The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete for Years 7, 8, & 9 and 10 minutes for older age groups.

If you have been affected by any of the topics covered in this survey. Please find a list of organisations below and at the end of the survey offering help and support to children and young people.
