The Essex Local Nature Partnership is pleased to announce the launch of the LNP Community Fund 2025, a new funding opportunity designed to empower local communities to take action in Essex for nature.
Community groups, charities, schools and other local organisations can apply for grants of £500 to £2,000 to support nature-based projects that contribute to local nature recovery and community wellbeing.
What We're Looking to Fund
We're seeking projects that deliver meaningful environmental and community benefits. Successful applications will aim to achieve one or more of the following:
- Linking habitats to improve ecological connectivity
- Enhancing biodiversity through habitat creation or restoration
- Improving access to green spaces for local communities
- Connecting people with nature, especially underrepresented or disadvantaged groups
- Protecting or improving existing valuable habitats
- Enhancing urban nature (e.g., green roofs, pocket parks, vertical gardens)
- Projects should seek to align with the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS)
What We Can't Fund
- Politically motivated activities or organisations
- Ongoing running costs or pre-existing operational expenses (e.g., rent, wages, utility bills)
This fund is made possible through a partnership between Essex Wildlife Trust, Essex County Council and the Essex Local Nature Partnership.
Successful applicants will be asked to provide feedback on project outcomes, producing a report at the end of their project in a way that best demonstrates their success.
