Climate Action Advice Packs and Sustainable Essex website. case studies
Overview
Essex County Council has developed an online form to learn more about the pioneering environmental work which is being delivered by communities across the county.
Why your views matter
The Council is currently in the process of updating its latest versions of the Climate Action Advice Packs and developing a new Sustainable Essex website.
You can review the current version of the Climate Action Advice Packs by scanning the QR code below.

By completing this form, you have the opportunity to submit a case study on a key environmental project and for it to be featured in the Climate Action Advice Packs or the new Sustainable Essex website which is currently in the process of being developed.
You can submit a case study for both the Climate Action Advice Packs and the Sustainable Essex website.
Climate Action Advice Packs (background)
Launched in 2022, the advice packs provide practical and cost-effective advice on how we can get involved with helping the local environment and move to a more sustainable lifestyle. There have been advice packs developed for residents, businesses, schools and early years settings.
Business Advice Pack
‘Are you a business which has taken action to improve your sustainability? It might be that you’ve undertaken staff carbon literacy; changed the way you sort and manage rubbish; improved your energy efficiency; or thought about ways to reduce the carbon in your supply chains – or anything else which helps to reduce your business’ carbon footprint and improve the environment! We would like to hear from you. Tell us about the type of business you are, what sustainability focused changes you have made and the positive changes these have had on your business’.
Resident Advice Pack
Would you like to learn more about how you can move towards a more sustainable lifestyle? From how to reduce waste in the home, reduce energy consumption and support green spaces, the Resident Advice Pack is full of practical sustainable advice on how individuals and communities can get involved with helping the environment. If you are an individual or community which would like to showcase pioneering environmental projects which are taking place in your area, please share your case studies with us in the form.
Schools’ Advice Pack
Find out how you can help your school to become sustainable in the Schools’ Advice Pack. From Energy Management and Retrofitting in school buildings, teaching and learning resources and sustainable travel during the school commute, the advice pack is full of practical and cost-effective advice to help schools to reduce carbon. The advice pack also shares case studies focusing on all the great environmental work which is being delivered by local schools. If you would like to share examples of how your school is implementing sustainability practices, please complete the form.
Early Years Advice Pack
Do you work in an early years setting or are you a childminder and would like to get involved in supporting the local environment and improve sustainability? The Early Years Advice Pack is a great way to enhance your knowledge on environmental action, and how you can apply this to an early years’ setting. The advice pack contains guidance on various themes including sustainable action planning, how to reduce food waste and how to improve outdoor spaces. It also shares some examples of the fantastic work which has been delivered in early years settings. If you would like to feature as a case study, please complete the form below.
The Climate Action Advice Packs are all living documents which are regularly updated to ensure that they provide the most up-to-date advice, resources and environmental initiatives across the county.
We are currently looking for case studies from community groups, businesses and schools which can be featured in our new editions of the Climate Action Advice Packs. The Council is also developing a new tailored Climate Action Advice Pack for young people, and we would be interested to hear about any relevant case studies which can be included in this new advice pack. As well as the advice packs, over the coming months, we will be launching a brand-new Sustainable Essex website.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the great work taking place across the county, as well as signpost to current resources, volunteering initiatives or projects which can help others across the county to get involved in helping the local environment.
Sustainable Essex website (Coming soon!)
The Sustainable Essex website will signpost local communities, residents, schools and businesses to key advice around how they can support the local environment. It will also feature case studies to share examples of best practice.
