Proposal to expand Shorefields SEND School from January 2026 through the provision of a new teaching block
Overview
Working in partnership with the senior leadership team at Shorefields SEND School, Essex County Council is exploring the possibility of providing a new single storey teaching block with two new class bases, each with a dedicated break-out room, toilets, new play equipment and 8 additional car parking spaces to accommodate an additional 9 students for January 2026. In turn this will create greater capacity to address recent growth in numbers.
Why your views matter
All parties agree that the principle of expanding Shorefields SEND School should be explored with the local community, in order to improve capacity for children and young people from 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties in the locality.
We invite you to engage with us, so that we may take full account of your views when the best way forward is considered.
