Youth vaping campaign - 1year follow-up

Overview

Essex County Council (ECC) would like to understand your experience of using the “Clear the Air” website and its resources, and of talking to your child about vaping.

It has been around one year since you first accessed the website and told us you had spoken to your child about vaping. We’d like to understand the longer‑term impact of these conversations and how helpful the website and resources have been over time, including any improvements that could be made. Your responses will help inform future improvements.

  • This survey is for parents or carers who used the website when their child was aged 10-12, and who live in Essex (including Southend & Thurrock).

  • This survey should take around 5 minutes to complete.

  • Taking part is voluntary. You can skip most questions or stop any time.

  • Your answers are anonymous and confidential.

  • At the start of the survey, we ask a few optional questions about you and your family (such as your child’s age and where you live). This helps us understand who the website is working well for and supports ongoing efforts to ensure it is inclusive for different people and communities.

  • Only the research team working on this survey will have access to your responses. Your individual responses will be stored securely on ECC systems in line with organisational policy, and will not be shared with anyone else.

  • Individual responses will be deleted when the final report is complete.

  • Reports of survey results will group responses together and be anonymous, so no one can be identified.

  • Reports will be shared with partners and may be published in the public domain. Reports may also be used to inform other relevant projects.

  • To pause the survey and come back to it, select 'Save and continue later' at the bottom of the screen. You will be asked to provide your name and email address so a unique link can be sent to you.

  • Please click ‘submit’ at the end of the survey, otherwise your responses will not be saved.

  • If you wish to withdraw your data after submitting, please contact PHI@essex.gov.uk within two weeks of submitting with your response ID, which will be provided when you click submit. After this period, your data will have been combined with others.

  • At the end of the survey, we’ll also ask if you’d be interested in joining an informal one to one online discussion (interview) to share about your experiences in more detail. If you choose to say yes, we’ll ask for contact details so we can get in touch. Your details will not be used for anything else, and will be stored securely and separately from your survey answers.

Essex County Council fully complies with information legislation. If you would like the full details of how we use personal data, and the rights you have about its use, please go to Privacy: Community services | Essex County Council or call 03457 430430
