Essex County Council is intending to sell the former Lexden Springs School site.


Following its relocation to brand new purpose built premises at a nearby site in the summer of 2019, the former site is vacant and Essex County Council has no further operational use for it.


In order for the sale of part of the site to proceed, the consent of the Secretary of State for Education is required under Section 77 of the School and Standards Framework Act 1998 to dispose of the playing field element.

A plan of the former Lexden Springs School site showing the area subject to the proposed disposal is available for inspection in the public library at County Hall, Market Road, Chelmsford, CM1 1QH Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:30pm, Saturday 9:00am to 5:30pm and Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm and at Stanway Library, 10 Villa Road, Stanway, Colchester, CO3 0RH Monday and Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am to 1:00pm
