Community food activities survey

Overview

Essex County Council (ECC) and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) would like to understand your experience of the food education sessions at your community supermarket, and how they may have helped you.

  • This survey should take around 5–10 minutes.

  • Taking part is voluntary, you can skip questions or stop any time

  • Your responses are confidential.

  • Reporting will group together responses and not identify you. Your name will not be used in any reports. Reports will be shared with partners and may be published publicly.

  • We will store your information securely. Only the research team will see your answers.

  • We will delete the data after the project ends and all publications are complete. Data will be stored for no longer than 7 years.

  • If you want to withdraw your answers after submitting, please contact us  within one month at emma.carey@essex.gov.uk and emma.farrow@essex.gov.uk. If you have provided contact details, we will use these to identify your records. Otherwise, we may be unable to identify your results. After one month, data may have been anonymised, and we would be unable to identify your responses to remove them.

  • Towards the end of the survey, we ask a few optional questions about things like your age, gender, and background. We ask these questions to help us understand whether the activities are working well for different people, and whether any groups are benefiting more or less than others. This helps us make the activities fairer, more inclusive, and better suited to the communities they are meant to support.

  • At the end of the survey, we’ll also ask if you would be interested in taking part in further research, such as an informal one-to-one conversation (interview) or keeping a short food diary to help us better understand people’s experiences. If you choose to say yes, we’ll ask for contact details so we can get in touch, which will be stored securely and separately from your survey answers.

  • For receiving the research report, please visit Home | Essex Open Data (and search ‘community supermarket food education’)

  • Please make sure to click "Submit" at the end of the survey, otherwise we will not receive your responses.
