CONSULTATION DART 1 AND DART 2 - UTTLESFORD
The contracts for DaRT 1 and DaRT 2 services are due to expire in April 2023. Both contracts are operated by Essex & Suffolk DaRT (Arrow Taxi Essex Ltd). New bus services introduced in August 2022 now cover some areas also currently covered by the DaRT services. Timetables for these alternative services can be found at the end of this document.
Because of this overlap we are proposing to re-design the current DaRT services to create a new single service which does not duplicate other services. For most people your journey will not change. But for some, this could mean changes to how you make your journey and that is what this consultation covers.
Dart 1 currently covers - Arkesden, Berden, Chrishall, Clavering, Elmdon, Farnham, Langley, Littlebury, Manuden, Quendon & Rickling, Strethall, Wenden Lofts, Wicken Bonhunt and operates between 07:00 – 18:00.
Dart 2 currently covers - Bardfield Saling, Chickney, Great Bardfield, Great Saling, Great Sampford, Lindsell, Little Bardfield, Little Easton, Little Sampford, Radwinter, Tilty, Wimbish, Stebbing and Thaxted operates between 07:00 – 18:00
The intention is to re-design these services into a single DaRT service which would be numbered as 299. Most passengers will see no change to their travel as a result and will be able to continue to book onto the DaRT service 299 and will continue to operate between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00.
The re-designed DaRT 299 will cover the following areas:
Arkesden, Berden, Chrishall, Clavering, Elmdon, Langley, Littlebury, Manuden, Quendon & Rickling, Strethall, Wenden Lofts, Wicken Bonhunt, Bardfield Saling, Chickney, Great Bardfield, Great Saling, Great Sampford, Lindsell, Little Bardfield, Little Easton, Little Sampford, Tilty, and Thaxted (where access cannot be made to the conventional bus).
The main impacts of creating a new single service will be:
The consultation will commence Monday 16th January 2023 and close on Friday 3rd February 2023
