Proposed expansion of Great Bentley Primary School

Overview

Invitation to participate in an online consultation relating to the proposed expansion of Great Bentley Primary School.

Essex County Council (ECC) as the Education Authority, are proposing to expand this primary school so as to provide an additional 210 pupil places (1form of entry) in order to meet the growth in the number of school places required for local children in the village.  The project design team has been developing a proposal that would meet educational needs and fits well on to the existing school site:

The proposed expansion primarily involves the construction of a standalone building containing 7 classrooms, including facilities, a studio, 2 x group rooms and:

• Internal remodelling of main school building to provide a further reception classroom.
• Scooter & cycle parking.
• New multi-use games area.

Why your views matter

ECC would like to invite you to an exhibition to review the latest draft proposals online and to have your say before the proposals are completed for submission to the County Planning Authority as a full planning application. We would be grateful if you could take the time to complete this survey so that we can capture and consider your views prior to the submission of the planning application.

The online exhibition will be available from Thursday 8^th December to Thursday 22^nd December 2022.

What happens next

Following this consultation, all relevant comments and feedback will be reviewed and considered as part of the planning process.
