Overview

This Introduction to Adult Safeguarding session is aimed at anyone NEW to adult safeguarding, supporting and/or working with adults in any setting.

Delivery of the training:

This is a virtual course, delivered via Zoom (please check your organisation's requirements and restrictions for virtual delivery).

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the training participants will:

  • Be aware of legislation relevant to safeguarding,
  • Explore what is abuse including signs and symptoms, 
  • Be familiar with the procedures for reporting abuse, 
  • Discuss good practice procedures if someone discloses abuse, 
  • Explore factors that may lead to abusive situations and or poor practice,
  • Know how deal with disclosures, preserve evidence and how to record incidents according to policy requirements

Maximum booking numbers:

To maintain the multi-agency element, there is maximum of 5 participants per organisation for each session. If you wish to book more than 5 participants, please spread your booking across alternative dates, or speak to the ESAB Team (on esab.training@essex.gov.uk) about in-house training options.
