School Funding Consultation 2025-26

Overview

This consultation has been approved by the Essex Schools Forum and concerns the following:

• The requirement to adhere to the Schools National Funding Formula (NFF); and
   
• A proposal to transfer 1% from the Schools Block to the High Needs Block in 2025-26.

This consultation is for all primary and secondary schools, both maintained and academies.

Why your views matter

Schools Forum wishes to know the views of schools on the proposals within this consultation to inform the decisions they will take at the November Schools Forum meeting.

What happens next

The results of the consultation will be presented to a joint meeting of the Finance and High Needs Review Groups on 5th November where they will consider the responses of the consultation to determine their recommendation to Schools Forum.

School Forum meets on 27th November and will consider the Authority's final proposals, taking into account the response to the consultation plus the recommendation of the Finance & High Needs Review Groups to determine their decision.
