Home Based Care Family Engagement

Overview

Essex County Council, as part of our wider short breaks offer, are working on improving the provision of Home Based Care (also known as Direct Provision, home-based agency support or packages of care) for children and young people with special educational needs and /or disabilities (SEND) and their families living in Essex who are assessed as requiring intensive or specialist provision.

This questionnaire is aimed at the families of SEND children and young people living in Essex who are assessed by a Social Worker as requiring intensive or specialist provision.

When talking about support and services throughout the questionnaire, we are referring to the support you may currently get, are waiting to receive, or have previously received from agency carers in the home and the community. Responses and participation will not affect any services you may currently be receiving.

Why your views matter

We are seeking the views of our residents about their experiences of current services to help us in the development of a new framework agreement with specialist providers.

Please complete the questionnaire as honestly as you can, your views are important to us. By completing the questionnaire, you agree for your feedback to be used to inform the area of work related to Home Based Care.  Your responses will be treated in strictest confidence and will remain anonymous.

Your participation is voluntary. If you wish to withdraw your data, please contact shortbreaks@essex.gov.uk  by 30/10/2024. After this date, your data will have been combined with that of others and anonymised.

What happens next

Thank you for your help, your participation is greatly appreciated.

We will review what you and others have told us, and collate key themes and the findings will be used to help improve services.

The findings report will be hosted on the Short Breaks microsite as a news item, and the link shared with all who took part and chose to share their email address.
