Co-production for Essex Adult Social Care

Closed 27 May 2025

Opened 15 May 2025

Overview

Essex County Council (ECC) is working to improve Adult Social Care by involving lots of different groups of people, including those with lived experience. Together, we’re making services better and focused on what communities really need.

Why your views matter

We’re asking for your views to help shape a co-production contract that will go out to tender.

This contract will help ECC to involve people in designing and co-producing Adult Social Care services that truly work for them.

Thank you for taking part — your input will be used to help make a real difference.

What is co-production? Why does it matter to me?

Co-production is an umbrella term for how we work with people with lived experience to gain their views and knowledge to design and deliver our services. ECC Adult Social Care is committed to empowering people and families to work with us as partners in making sure that people with care and support needs get the best care and support possible.

“Co-production is not just a word, it is not just a concept, it is a meeting of minds coming together to find shared solutions. In practice, co-production involves people who use services being consulted, included, and working together from the start to the end of any project that affects them. When co-production works best, people who use services and carers are valued by organisations as equal partners, can share power, and have influence over decisions made”.
