ESAB Safeguarding Adult Staff Survey

Closed 13 Mar 2020

Opened 27 Jan 2020

Southend, Essex and Thurrock Safeguarding Adult Boards is asking all staff that have contact with adults with care and support needs about their knowledge of adult safeguarding. We want to know which areas of adult safeguarding are strengths, and where there are gaps so that we can help staff to feel more confident and knowledgeable when dealing with adult safeguarding issues.

This survey is open to all staff at all levels, including receptionists, volunteers, contracted staff, social workers, mental health workers, stakeholders, trainees, as well as any other in direct employee of the organisation, for example sub-contractors etc.

The Care Act (2014) states that the safeguarding Boards must have a clear, agreed understanding of the roles, responsibilities, authority and accountability of its member agencies and:

  • a system for agencies reporting to the board on the measures they have in place, how they are working and enable them to respond to challenge from the board
  • arrangements to provide advice and support to other organisations to improve their safeguarding mechanisms and activity
  • ensure that partner organisations have arrangements for the quality assurance of the effectiveness of their safeguarding work.

By taking part in this online questionnaire, you will be consenting to your data being used. Under the Data Protection Act we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. The information will only be used for the purposes described above and will not be kept longer than is necessary to do so, up to a maximum of two years. We will not share your personal details with any agency unless we have concerns that you or another individual may be at risk of harm or if required by law.

What Happens Next

Once the results have been collated a report will go to the Safeguarding Adult Boards for them to consider what actions to take.  Anonymised information may also be shared with the safeguarding adult leads from your organisation.
